TSC Deployment of P1 Teachers to JSS Requirements.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has declared that present primary school teachers with secondary education degrees are eligible for 6,000 deployment spots. The deadline for interested parties to submit their applications is March 18, 2024.
By giving PTE (Primary Teacher Education) teachers positions in the junior secondary school division beginning in the upcoming term, TSC hopes to elevate these educators.
The deadline for qualified teachers to submit an application for deployment by the designated date has been set by the Commission.
To be eligible for deployment to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), primary school teachers must fulfill certain criteria:
i) Hold an active registration as a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
ii) Currently employed as a primary school teacher under the Teachers Service Commission.
iii) Not under interdiction or undergoing any disciplinary process.
iv) Possess a minimum of a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or its equivalent), including a C+ in two teaching subjects offered in the school curriculum (either under 8-4-4 or CBC) or two (2) principles and one (1) subsidiary pass at “A” Level, with at least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects.
v) Those with a minimum of C (plain) at KCSE (or its equivalent) and a Diploma in Education alongside a Bachelor Degree in Education are eligible.
vi) Hold a Bachelor of Education degree; holders of Bachelor of Education (Primary Option) are not eligible.
During the verification exercise, candidates are required to present the following documents:
i) Original and copy of the degree/diploma certificate.
ii) Original and copies of the academic transcripts.
iii) Original and copy of Special Needs Education (SNE) qualification (where applicable).
iv) Original and copy of the KCSE certificate (or its equivalent).
v) A copy of the current payslip.
vi) A declaration by the Head of Institution confirming that the teacher is currently serving in the school and is neither under interdiction nor undergoing a disciplinary process.
