KUCCPS addresses the next step for the release of 2023 KCSE student’s results.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued a warning to KCSE applicants for 2023, advising them to keep a close eye on material pertaining to their college and university applications.

The organization in charge of assigning students to postsecondary schools admitted in a notice that it had not yet opened the application portal for the pupils.

According to KUCCPS, these details will be made available to the public via its official channels in the next few days.

“We look forward to offering support in accessing courses in universities, colleges and TVET institutions,” according to a portion of the advertisement.

However, the university also responded to inquiries from prospective students over the application process, which was plagued by glitches during the previous year’s application procedure.

Hours after Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu revealed the 2023 results, KUCCPS released the notification.

201,133 students received a mean grade of C+ or higher in the 2023 results. A total of 107,471 pupils received a C- (minus) and 92,612 students received a C.

155,276 applicants received a Grade D, while 125,006 pupils received a Grade D+. 48,174 kids received an E, while 165,861 students received a D- (minus) according to Machogu’s report.

Since that last year’s exams were graded using a new system, it is unknown if admission requirements to universities and colleges would change.

But according to CS Machogu, the goal of the new grading scheme was to guarantee that the majority of students were able to enroll in the courses they wanted at different postsecondary institutions.

Additionally, the CS instructed KUCCPS to inform the 2023 candidates about the new finance model introduced by President William Ruto last year as well as the grading system.

“The new reform measure will allow a larger number of students to pursue courses of their choice at the universities, Diploma and TVET training at Certificate and Artisan levels than was previously when the grading was more restrictive,” he said.
